For healthier habits
Our brains often run on autopilot when following old habits. That's why, to change a habit, we need to understand what actually drives our behaviour.
Every habit has three essential components: a cue that triggers it, the behaviour itself, and a reward. Understanding the essence of the reward helps us replace unwanted behaviours with healthier choices that satisfy the craving. When building new habits, we need to be deliberate about choosing the cues and rewards —at least for a while.
Charles Duhigg, author of "The Power of Habit" says:
"Our brains want to conserve all the cognitive energy by making these behaviours automatic. If you have consistent cues and rewards that you pay attention to, it will get easier each day. At some point, your brain takes over, and that behaviour becomes a habit."
When performed consistently, small changes build momentum, improve the stories we tell ourselves unconsciously, and help us become a better version of ourselves.

What can you achieve in 10 minutes?
We often think we need huge blocks of time to make progress. But in reality, we don't need to make dramatic changes to expand our knowledge, improve our skills, or fix something in our business. Even just 10 minutes a day can make a huge difference.
The secret is taking tiny, consistent steps. Over time, these micro improvements compound into remarkable outcomes.
Did you know that when you commit to getting just 1% better each workday, you can get 13 times better by the end of the year? 37 times if you commit 7 days a week. It's called compound growth, and you can start investing today without overwhelming yourself.
Here's how:
- Pick just one skill, topic, or area of improvement —keep it simple and specific.
- Find natural slots in your day where you can focus for 10 minutes, e.g. during your commute or in the morning when no one else is around.
- Whether you're learning something new or improving your skills, try various formats, e.g. videos, podcasts, articles...
- Celebrate your consistency at the end of the week so you'll have the motivation to pick up where you left off next week.
Start small, stay consistent, and acknowledge your improvements, one 10-minute session at a time.
Happy Monday, Reader
