For your mind

“Finding oneself is not about arriving at a final destination—it’s about embracing the journey. It’s about peeling back the layers of expectation, fear, and doubt to uncover who you truly are. […] You are a work in progress, an evolving masterpiece. Keep exploring. Keep questioning. Keep creating. Because in the act of seeking, you are already becoming.” —Ty Dale

The first person you think about

In a workshop I attended a while ago, the host asked us to draw the first person that came to mind. Just like that —no rules, no expectations.

I ended up drawing a colleague who appeared on our last video call wrapped in a blanket to avoid putting the heating on. It was an unexpected detail, so it stuck with me.

Today, I invite you to do the same thing during your coffee or lunch break:

  • Grab a piece of paper and draw the person who pops into your mind. Don't worry about artistic skills - stick figures would work just fine.
  • Include whatever details stand out to you. Maybe add some detail from the last time you saw them, like where they were and what they were doing.

This exercise will help you reflect on your relationships and observe what you pay attention to.

You might want to share it with the person you drew - it could lead to an interesting conversation. Or keep it in your sketchbook as a little reminder.

I'd also love to see what you draw if you feel like sharing.
